I first saw Portland artist Julianna Swaney's Foundling fox illustration on Shiny Squirrel in 2009. I couldn't stop staring at the upright beast, as if he had just walked out of a children's book. Swaney was trained a printmaker but works mostly in pencil and watercolor. You can find her work chronicled beautiful on her drawing blog, Oh My Cavalier, in addition to an online gallery and shop of the same name. She also logs her inspirations on Rare Bird, and shares an antique paper scrap collection on her ephemera blog (!!!), Ephemeratopia. Is there nothing this woman does not do, and do beautifully? Did I mention there are handmade brooches? *Swoon*
