100Faces
Here's a project I *love* from fellow classmate and CCA grad Matthew Jervis. 100Faces: Facebook Profile Picture Project is a series of glass paintings created from (naturally) Jervis' Facebook friends' profile pictures. He writes: "the phenomenon of cueing up new and old friends in the equalizing space of Facebook is like watching some strange tapestry of my life being assembled." It's true there is something incredibly personal, and even sensual about the reinterpretation of these people. To know each shot was selected by the subject as a public face, and now to see them here intimate and singular. Jervis successfully inverts the camera with his glass to expose his friends to themselves and, freshly, to each other.
