Edward Burtynsky

It is easy to wonder how photographer Edward Burtynsky remains apolitical when shooting such vast wastelands of industry. But like a wildlife camera man, the emphasis is on documentation rather than commentary. He writes, "These images are meant as metaphors to the dilemma of our modern existence." Yet, to me they seem a far more literal translation. Be sure to take a look at his film, Manufactured Landscapes.

  1. I love how expansive these images are, the tires are wonderful and that trailer in the far background is the cherry on top. The first picture looks like the Three Rivers Project on the Yangtze. Great find!
